Big Traffic Delays, Lots of Anger!

There has been big issues with traffic congestion on the Wobaston Road this morning, which has led to Wednesfield residents contacting me to complain about these huge delays!
Hundreds of workers trying to get to the Pendeford Business Park have been delayed this morning by temporary traffic lights placed on the Wobaston Road.

Some workers tell me that they have been delayed for over 30 minutes waiting to get through the lights. I have contacted the City Councils Highways Department and this is their response.

"We were made aware of the issues and have contacted Western Power Distribution who are working on the Overstand junction. They should have manned traffic control. We have also sent our contractor up to the works to chaise them to clear the congestion utilising the manual control, these works not falling under our contractors control.

We will be investigating further why Western Power have failed to properly control the traffic today after successfully managing the traffic for the past few working days. A progress update from Western Power is being sort at present."
So please note the City Council is to contact Western Power Distribution to find out what has gone wrong.

I personally think there should be some very high level apologies made, as many independent companies on Pendeford Business Park and elsewhere locally, will have had their own production affected by these delays.
