Ashmore Park Rangers Meet Prime Minister!

Councillor Dave Jones Chairman of Ashmore Park Rangers with John Bird Founder and Club Secretary with Ken Purchase MP for Wolverhampton North East.

Dave said " We both found it a great thrill to be at the most famous door of the Nation! Ken Purchase Wolverhampton North East MP met us and took us to Downing Street.

Like every famous statesman for centuries, we posed for a photograph before the heavy door opened and the three of us were invited inside.

It is quite overwhelming at first going into 10 Downing Street. There are all the past images you have had and picked up off the television and it is just a most fabulous place inside.

We both spoke to the Prime Minister Tony Blair who congratulated us and other guest on the work we had done within our community here in Wednesfield North."

Ashmore Park Rangers are a very successful football team, with 150 players both girls and boys they do a great job in keeping the youth of Wednesfield interested and participating in sport.
