Sandy Crescent Public Footpath to Be Made Safer

Residents of Sandy Crescent- I can now confirm the linking public footpath to Griffith Drive on Ashmore Park following my intervention is being given attention.
Arrangements have been made to have the footway swept to remove any loose material and generally give the location a cleaner look, this work will be carried out next week.

I took this matter up as the current condition of the footway is unsafe for pedestrians, particularly if you are a little unstaedy on your legs!

The areas of footway where the 'wearing course' has lifted from the 'base course' will be looked at to see if it's possible to carry out a repair. I am informed by officials that the revenue budget will not run to a reconstruction or dressing of the location.

The financial resources cutback that the Government has ordered has reduced the City Council finances. Now it is issue's like this one that is being starved ......It look like a full re instatement will have to feature in a future years programme.

Still the good news is that the footpath will be made that bit safer and cleaner, that has to be a result!
