Residents Parking - Lower Prestwood Road.
WV11 had this issue on their web site, and I had also received the cabinet papers, and it had intrigued me as to why this location?
I asked the City Council why there was a proposal for a residents parking scheme proposed for this particular location?
The response I have received is The consultation is taking place with residents of 19 locations throughout the City. Locations are included where Councillors and residents have contacted the council about parking issues and in particular about the introduction of a Residents Parking Scheme.
So it is clear either residents or other local Councillors in the past have requested consideration.
Who ever made the request in the past-the consultation's are now taking place and residents who will be affected are being requested for their views. So if you are affected and you want your viewsknown. A response to the consultation is very much in your own interest.
There was a paper that went to the Cabinet Resources Panel back in April 2012 and that committee agreed that - "The Panel authorises the commencement of the consultation process for the proposed resident parking zones and approved the introduction of controlled parking zones subject to the location meeting the criteria and there being no unresolved objections."
They were asked to " note the previously approved charge of £40 per year for each residential parking permit. Also to note that this is a self-financing initiative and that the costs and charges will be reviewed each year and included in the annual parking report. Subject to approval, receive a further report on completion of the consultation process which will provide the detail of the responses for each location and the financial arrangements for the scheme."
I hope residents of Wednesfield North are better informed now with regard to this scheme. Please email me if you want to further explore this issue.
