Safety Schemes and Road Improvements.

The Transportation Capital Programme for 2012/13 and future year’s lists schemes for development, and a quick flick through the schemes that are listed as being in Wednesfield North indicate that it is the Authorities intention to seek approval for
• Wood End Road to be treated out of the Local Safety Schemes Programme at a cost of £20,000.

The Local safety Scheme Programme is designed to address issues at locations or on routes where there is a significant accident history.
- Kitchen Lane is earmarked for £15,000 spends from the Urgent Works/TRO/Signs/Guardrails/Markings budget.

This work on Kitchen Lane is receiving budget from the Minor Highways Improvement Programme the scheme has been identified, usually by local residents as traffic management or road safety concerns

Safer Routes to School Programme is maintained because for children and parents the greatest road safety concern surrounds the journey to school.

This programme contains schemes which are developed in conjunction with schools through School Travel Planning
• Griffith Drive/Peacock Ave scheme has a cost of £22,000 and is being allocated to the Safer Routes to School Programme.

All of these schemes go to Wolverhampton City Council Cabinet for Approval on the 20th June 2012 as an approval.
