'Quiet diplomacy may be more productive?'

On the electronic pages of WV11 is a plea from a reader requesting my support for the return of the former 528 bus service. I understand what the reader wants and i undertsand the arguments as they have appeared on WV11; With regard to the 528 service its an issue that I have had numerous conversations with constituents over, prior to my election and immediatley after my election. I know the score!
What I should say at the start is that the 528 is unlikely to return to the highway in its former schedule.

I have spoken with NXWM with regard to this particular request. NXWM do not see this service being resurrected into its commercial network at this time. If there is a solution to the problem of linking Wednesfield, Ashmore Park, Willenhall and Bilston together it is with the current 57 service which will is the key. And central to the decision will be Centro, who are paying for this subsidised service.

I have already opened a conversation with Centro over this service 57 and its route, that it currently runs.

None of these issues or the potential solutions to the problems are easy to deliver. I am on the case but I think a little bit of 'quiet diplomacy' may be more productive than shouting too loud about it just at this time. Remember if there were big numbers making the journey, then the (old 528) service would still be operating now.

I will of course report back when the time is right after all my conversations have taken place, and I am in a position to give the full information. In the meantime can I ask the community for a little bit of trust on this particular issue.
