Big Thank You to All Who Helped!

Saturday morning and my office at home needs a good clear out!

Elections have taken there toll and there is paper everywhere!

The election result in Wolverhampton was just brilliant! Here in Wednesfield we had a clean sweep of seats.

Wednesfield North,Wednesfield South and Fallings Park all went Labour.

That wouldn't have happened without the hardwork of individuals that arranged the Labour literature, posted and walked across all the Wards. Knocked doors to find out where the Labour vote was and then to arrange for that vote to be mobilised.

Here in Wednesfield North I want to first thank my agent Geoff Foster who ran a superb campaign. He is a fine strategist and a man who had a plan! His strategy through-out the election was spot on. Then there was the 'foot soldiers' who make everything possible for candidates.

Kevin Blower who was magnificent not only with his energy and enthusiasm on the street, but his backroom skills were most welcome addition to the team-Thank You Kevin!

Bobby Jones the most experienced of our campaigners who was out 'day in day out'- Bob everyone knows that for the last 40 years or more you have kept Wednesfield North Labour Party a float!

But for me your enthusiasm and humour kept me toiling, you are a real star!

Councillor Rita Potter and her case work over the last 12 months- showing how Labour Councillors do make a difference when they are elected - Thank you for the time you have given, on the streets delivering and canvassing, and in the back room strategy meetings.

Mr Will Wilson and Derek Wollam getting soaked, delivering literature, canvassing, and counting- You guys do make our team of voluteers exceptional.

Then there are the many others that help with the other tasks that need to be done Inez Dacres, Iris Major, Vicki and of course the other Ward party members that have all played a part in this election winning performance!

Finally a word of thanks to my wife Mary. She has been magnificent, a real trouper and a great inspiration. How she puts up with all my plans and my untidy approach to life I do not know. But she is there, delivering, acting as the 'scribe' as we canvass, plus the arrangement to detail as we meet and plan our approach in the front room of the house! Thank's Mary!

Everyone else who helped and there has been many, many many people including family members. Very difficult to name everyone. But we have had a great response from Steve,Bryn,Katie,Craig,Di, Frank & Eileen all out helping in the task. Also my Mother in Law- Mary who performed the 'Office Managers' role on election day! Thank you for your time.

Finally we have the 'supporters club' who have also played an active role in supporting me - Special mention should go to Doreen Tipton who gave great encouragement not only to me, but also to her own friends and family to vote for The Labour Party.

I know that we have a strong 'Supporters Club' at the Gala Bingo which includes Cheryl and Rhoda. Girls thank you for speading the word and supporting my candidature, I will not forget your contribution!

The result being a win for Labour! Thanks Guy's! Thanks to everyone who help pull off a very good gain for Labour.
