Sir Stan Yapp

Shocked at the news of the passing of Sir Stan Yapp.

I want to pay my respects to Sir Stan Yapp who I undertstand has passed away today. Sir Stan was Leader of Birmingham City Council and a former Chairman of the West Midlands County Council.

He was my Vice Chairman of the Passenger Transport Committe for a while. He was a proud Brummie! He was a real charachter and a very, very bright man. I am sure we all have some great memories of his style and his personality.

I know I have. I would like to place on record my condolences and wish his family the deepest sympathy at their loss.
