Wednesfield Canal Returning to Normal

Been on an early morning walk with Mary, this time along the canal in Wednesfield.

This time along the canal in Wednesfield. It is good to see the water clarity returning and being able to see the return of the coots,moorhens and mallards. They were all very much in sight during the march along the canal towpath!

Sad though to see still some evidence of dead fish, an 8 inch Pike, some dead Perch.

Perhaps the Environment Agency would like to update the situation with regard to the pollution spill? Maybe make a statement now on the short term health of the canal? One other issue I have written to the Highway Authority as there has been some vandalism to the fence at the bridge near the Spread Eagle.

The fence could be seen to be dangerous for pedestrians. I am hopeful that the Council will take a look and repair!
