BBC Local Radio under attack!

I have responded to the BBC Trusts and their request for views on BBC Local Radio.

The consultation is all about reducing the service that Local BBC Radio stations make. It is part of their 'cuts' programme. I would urge anyone who values local speech radio to place their own views into the consultation.

For the record I am not keen on seeing large parts of the current service being lost, for an homogenous dross of programmes being broadcast from London or some other BBC radio station! Lets not lose what we have without a fight. The loss of ATV in Birmingham and further dilution of West Midlands News lately by Central was accepted without a murmur! No more eradication of our news please!
