Today Must Be A Day For Parents & Families To Take Control

That awful night last night is now over and we face another day today. Lets leave that horror and take advantage of the fact that we do have a new day to work even harder to ensure that last night is not repeated.
Every single one of us belong to a family and every single one of us should make sure that the young people here in our community remains out of trouble today and going forward. Its time for families to take control. Its time for the community to come together and help the police , and god help us the fire brigade and other parts of our well established institutions.

Last night was a nightmare, and I am so proud that Wolverhampton did not descend to the depths that other towns and cities did. We must take advantage of this new day to ensure that we address these issues and have a trouble free night.

Every person has the fundamental right to state his opinion, But I read some comments on twitter last night from Wolverhampton citizens that repulsed me. The BNP must not get a hold. As for Parliament it must be recalled. How can the nations political leaders sit on a beach when so much is required back home?

I wrote and twittered last night stating that we needed some cool heads and community leadership. The frustration and the anger of young people must not be used as an excuse to loot and create violence. In the cold light of a new day I still believe that. Its ridiculous that this Government have reduced the police numbers, axed their back up establishment, communities have been concerned about this for a long time now. Their fears were a reality last night as criminals and law breakers took central stage.

Throwing Molotov cocktails will not make any change for the better, real change must come through the ballot box. Now is the time for parents and family to take control, and be disciplined.

Make your protest peaceful. Injury or damage to your neighbours property will bring no change just burning animosity from those who should in normal circumstances be in your support. Do not attack your neighbourhoods and certainly not the police or other authority. Save your anger for conventional politics and the ballot box
