Wednesfield Rememberance Day Parade

Wednesfield North Labour Party once again took part in the Wednesfield Rememberance Day Parade held on Sunday.
As a former Mayor of the City of Wolverhampton I am proud to have once again represented my community at the traditional Remembrance Day March and Church Service in Wednesfield at St Thomas’s Church the Parish Church of Wednesfield.

This year as in the previous years we have seen the people of Wednesfield turn out to pay homage to the sacrifice made by our gallant troops who gave their lives to make a better homeland for the rest of us over two horrific World Wars. With local Wednesfield families still providing Britain’s armed forces with recruits.

Sunday was a moving day. With serving and injured troops in attendance we are very much aware that our valiant local men and women are still giving their lives for Britain in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I wish to salute my community, and the Royal British Legion Wood End Branch for doing so much during the course of the year to ensure that this historic service takes place annually. It was good to see so many of our leading citizens including Emma Reynolds MP also playing a part in our ceremony.

Wednesfield is a great place to live and it is on occasions like these that I know I belong to a caring community that really is interested in its past, as it is in its future.

Well done Wednesfield it was a brilliant turn out!
