More Scandal for Wolverhampton Conservatives

Having been abroad in Canada for two weeks it was a surprise to return home to see the head lines in our local paper the Express and Star tonight, that two senior Wolverhampton Tory councillors have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after an alleged dispute with a taxi driver.
"Councillors Carl Husted and Ian Bisbey were held by police following an early morning disturbance in Pendeford after a night in the city centre" reports the E&S.

All the while we have been away we have been talking up Wolverhampton, both in its history and the way the City lives.

It just does not fill you with pride to read of these type of allegations, especially when you couple them with the last Conservative sex scandal that occurred here in Wednesfield last year when both Conservative Councillor's Carol Bourne and David Bourne were both forced to resign from the City Council after a Sunday Newspaper alleged a 'sex for money' scandal.

What is for certain is that this newspaper edition will fly across the pages of the World's news wires and Wolverhampton will again be reported on negatively.
