Armed Forces Day

The Bateman's have always played a role in defending Queen and Country and with the first celebration for the first UK's armed forces day I am proud to recollect the family's history.

The UK armed forces deserve to be celebrated.The events today mark the achievements of the UK's armed forces.

The events are intended to thank current serving troops, their families and veterans for their contribution.

But today I am also remembering the contribution that both my Father, Grandfather, and my Great Great Grandfather's made to the defence of the Country. Also those of my uncles who also wore the uniform and defended Britain during the Second World War.

Our family military history is a long and proud history and it runs in tandem with the way that Britain feels today about the pride modern Britain has, for its professional forces and the men and women that are part of this great defence force.
