Residents Still Looking to Labour for Advice

"Well I might have lost an election last year. But I still seem to be on a good number of residents 'first call' list when they are in trouble" said Phil Bateman.
" recently I have been requested to give advice on a range of local issues, including a worrying case of aggressive anti social behaviour near the canal bridge in Broad Lane North.

A local resident contacted me because a large group of teens had gathered at the bridge last week end and had taken to once again abusing and threatening people who were just minding their own business. In this particular case a man and his wife were subjected to extreme goading and the man was kean to ensure that his wife was safe, so fierce and aggressive was the threats.

I have been in touch with the police and I have spoke again with the resident who bought the matter to my attention. The police inform me that they will visit and speak with the person who had to suffer a torrent of abuse and aggressive threats.

The canal has been improved so that the community can get benefit from the resource. The police I hope will crack down once again the 'booze parties' that seem to fuels this type of behaviour at this location. Certainly I expect to see a bigger police presence in Broad Lane at week ends when it appears to be at its worst."
