The Children's Society

Phil and Mary continue to make charitable contributions.

Phil Bateman said " During our Mayoral Year we raised almost £30,000 for charity. Whilst our fund raising is not exactly on the same grand scale now."

"We have continued to contribute to a number of individual charity's including support for 'The Children's Society'.

We feel that we are making a small but valuable contribution to what is a most important charity. Our latest contribution was 'small change' collected and passed to 'The Children's Society' amounting to the sum of £163.00."

The Children's Society say that "A good world needs happy children. Happy children need a good childhood. At The Children’s Society, we recognise that some children need help to achieve this. So we heal children’s hurt. We ease children’s pain. We restore children’s respect. When children are alone, we listen. When they’re abandoned, we care. And we never give up, even when children are facing the harshest challenges."
