Blowing Cold On Environment Policy

The new City Council arrangements for the recycling of plastic, and cardboard is some what controversial. Today the binmen are collecting in parts of Wednesfield.

It is a day when the wind is strong, plastic bottles and cardboard are now festooning the streets as the open top bags provided by the city council empty their contents onto the footpaths.

Once tidy neighbourhoods, are faced with plastic rolling down the highway, as the strong wind distributes the contents of the ill thought out bags across gardens roads and footpaths.

Recycling is certainly taking place, but not in the way that residents expected! This is a pretty ill thought out policy that needs reversing quickly, before neighbourhoods and communities get swamped with plastic bottles and cardboard!

It seems that the Counciltaxpayer will soon have to fund other litter pickers to pick up the plastic and cardboard that have been disgorged from these household bags.

Having been out twice now in the last hour to retrieve the contents of my bag, I join with all those residents that are just a little aggrieved at the 'dopey daisy' policy of providing this wrong type of receptacle, for the wrong type of weather, we experience here in Britain!

The politician that introduced this initiative wins my 'dopey daisy' of the week award!
