By Election Dave Jones Takes Action

Further problems have materialised due to anti social behaviour. Groups of youths are using the Essington and Wyrley Canal near to Perry Hall Bridge on Broad Lane North as a drinking den.
Dave Jones the Labour Party candidate for the City Council and Wednesfield North Labour Party has again been contacted by more resident's about the same old problems.

Dave Jones the Labour Candidate for Wednesfield North explained " since my colleague has highlighted the problem of a resident being abused and attacked by young people throwing bottles and cans at her last week at this location.

More residents have come forward to give their account of what is taking place. A number of resident's have identified that a local shop is selling these under age drinkers with alcohol.

Wednesfield North Labour Party at my request has written to the police, and we are going to do so again. We shall identify the shop and ask the police and the Local Authority to take action.

I have requested also that Wednesfield North Labour Party write to ask the City Council. Asking them to clean up the litter and cans and broken bottles at the site, and to make it once again safe for walkers.

This canal is a fabulous asset for Wednesfield, and resident's really do make use of the resource to jog, and walk and enjoy the scenery, and take their dogs for exercise.

It is disgraceful that these actions by a small group of youngsters is interfering with the smooth cohesiveness of the neighbourhood. I will of course keep the community informed of any action taken by the police."
