A Lib Dem view on the Bourne (Sex) Affair

Below is an interesting article taken from the Liberal Democrats web site, and written by Anthony Hook one of the Liberal Democrats European Candidates. It refers to the fact that the Conservative Councillors Bourne have allegedly run a brothel from their home.

At the risk of sounding like a liberal, I think we need to get this story in perspective.

On the face of it (I don’t discount the chance that there are facts which haven’t come to light) everyone was involved consensually, their neighbours weren’t disturbed and they were not causing anyone else harm. This is not Fred and Rose West mark 2.

We forgive MPs who cheat on their wives and in many cases they must do far more emotional damage to their families than Mr and Mrs Bourne have done to anyone.

If it means the end of their involvement in community affairs I think that would be a real shame and quite out of proportion to anything they have done. They must be feeling very upset tonight and my heart goes out to them."

So here we have it from the Liberal Democrats who are of course the 'partners' of Wolverhampton Conservatives. I leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions.
