Richard Caborn MP former Sports Minister Joins Campaign

Phil Bateman today said " I have been out of the Country on vacation, recharging batteries and generally toning myself up for what is going to be a very important month of September. I am pleased that I am still picking up support in my bid to become the Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate here in Wolverhampton North East at the next General Election.

The latest political endorsement that I have received is that of former Sports Minister Richard Caborn MP, who has done much to drive the current success that our Olympic heroes in Beijing our now achieving.

Richard Caborn writes " I have known Phil Bateman now for well over twenty years was a very respected councillor on the local government scene. In my ten years as a Minister, Phil was always very supportive and a person I could call on for sound advice on local government issues, particularly with regard to regional matters when I was Minister for the Regions. He was a great supporter in the period when we were setting up the Regional Development Agencies, one of the great successes of the first Labour Parliament in 1997.

Phil is a man of tremendous experience and integrity and I believe Wolverhampton North East would be well served in Parliament by Phil Bateman."
