Crime Statistics

Wednesfield Beat 17 which covers the Broad Lane North Wyvern Park, Springhill/Linthouse Estate,Wood End part of Wednesfield North and sits in one of the largest beats in the City is doing alright when it comes to the statistics.

In a recent report the crime statistics are down by -7% which mirrors the overall -7% statistical fall for the force overall.

That certainly looks a lot better than the neighbouring Ashmore Park/Coppice Farm statistics which show a sharp increase in crime.

But there is a bit of a kick in the tail of this story. In so much that this beat is positively huge covering most of Wednesfield. There is a 25,401 population residing in this area, and that translates to 10,584 households.

In the 12 month to December 2007 crimes numbered 2133 with the top number of crimes committed being criminal damage where a recorded 371 incidents were reported. I think that most people would be very pleased with the overall police performance in this area.
