Wood End School Robbed Off Lead!

Councillor Phil Bateman said " What a lousy bunch of petty hoods we have, who have pinched the lead flashings off the roof of Wood End Primary School!

The Headteacher makes comment about the event in her newsletter to the parents. But what a rotten action to take, disrupting the school day and damaging the fabric of the school.
It has been a nasty week with regard to the weather plenty of rain Headteacher Mrs Blower states " We are having some emergency work done on our hall roof following the theft of lead to avoid more leaking in the hall and other areas at side of school.

Please take care when collecting and bringing children in Nursery. I apologise for the disruption but this situation is unavoidable. "

Councillor Bateman further added " I wonder if the community at large noticed anything untoward? If so can I urge you to contact the police. This sort of action cannot be just tolerated.

Going on to some thing a lot more positive.

The school have again been awarded the Activemark 2007 to celebrate the range of extra curricular and school sport being provided by Wood End Primary School.

Can I say as Chair of the Black Country Sports Board how pleased I was to read of that award. Sport is a great way to improve both body and soul. Competitive sport is important. How pleased I am that a school in my Ward should be receiving such recognition. My congratulations to both staff and pupils."
