Consultation On Ashmore Park Schools

Wolverhampton City Councils Education Department has produced a leaflet 'Creating A New Future For Primary Education In Ashmore Park'. I understand that the document will be offered to parents at schools on the estate.

The document has been sent to all Governors and Head Teachers of schools on the Ashmore Park Estate with copies for staff. In addition letters and leaflets have been sent to schools on the Estate for distribution to parents.

The Informal Consultation has the following proposals.

Closing Danesmore Park facility in September 2007

Engaging in full discussion with Church Diocesan Authorities with a view to identifying a strategy to create improved educational facilities for Ashmore Park in the longer term.

Seeking to identify opportunities for renewal at the remaining Oak Meadow site.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " This is a really difficult time for our community, these issues are a starting point and the City Education Authorities are hoping for a wide response to the proposals."
