Canal Is Better

Back in May I was inundated with calls from people living near the Devil's Elbow Bridge complaining about noise and nuisance being experienced along the canal by these home owners.
Off road bikes were causing noise and there were fears for pedestrians and others using the canal walkways for leisure and other related activities. Councillor Dave Jones and I raised the issue with the Police and the other Authorities. I want to thank BWB the Local Authority and Wednesfield Police for the actions they have taken to date.

There is and has been a much calmer environment and police activity has been very much welcomed. More than 31 off road bikes and mini motor bikes have been seized by the police and complaints from residents has dramatically dropped.

The cctv has obviously played a big part in this. The 'Domehawks' are very useful pieces of equipment for this type of surveillance. All we need to do now is tackle the 'duck weed' on the canal and we have a real success!
