Ashmore Park Schools Debate

Councillor Phil Bateman said "As the debate continues over education provision in Ashmore Park it is worth noting that by and large the outcomes have been satisfactory over the years. This 'dip' in the birth rate is not just a Wednesfield phenomena it is a U.K wide issue.
Against this backdrop is also the good news about the proposals to establish a 'Children's Centre' which I broke in yesterday's Councillor Phil Bateman On Line story. You can read the contents after you have read this!

We do have some good schools on the estate with some good teaching staff and other provision.

But parents always need to push the establishments for better education for their children. Education is of course the pathway to success in later life! Whilst we debate the issue of education, I would like to appeal to Danesmore School to make much more of the swimming pool that they have, than is currently the case.

There must be just a handful of schools with a facility such as this? My appeal to the Governing Body is to open the pool to the other schools on the estate, and lets see our Primary School children learning the swimming skills that will hold them in good stead later in their years.

Why not throw the Pool open to other private uses like swimming party's and get a private income stream into the school. Finally on the Pool can we not brighten the 'roof' with a similar mural that exists in the Danesmore School Playground....just a few thoughts!"
