Skate Park Sadness

We cannot allow vandals and hooligans to win the day. The community must be able to provide good quality facilities for its youngsters, and we must regain both our pride and our Parks back from the moron's that want to destroy everything of value.
Councillor Phil Bateman said "I have been very disappointed as today I thought that I would look in on the new Skate Park facility that we opened only last week. Imagine my surprise at what seems targeted vandalism with the loss of the gates and one of the fence panels.
The picture (right) clearly showing the gate and one of the fence panels missing!

It goes without saying that this item of park equipment is meant to add to the enjoyment of youngsters and not be the target of destruction!

Whatever is a matter with these people. There was a broken bottle on the ground and the glass was strewn across the tarmac. I am going to make a special plea to Leisure to get some extra security on the Ashmore Park. I am sure it must be a candidate for cctv because it is being so badly treated by some."
