Tarmac A Quality Company

Well today after a visit to the doctors I am off to a rehearsal arranged for tomorrow's handover ceremony when the new Mayor and Mayoress take over from Mary and I. We have had a fabulous year!
Yesterday we visited Tarmac HQ in Ettingshall where we toured the HQ met staff and were shown the developments and projects that this multi national company were involved in. It was an eye opener to see the size of the projects that Tarmac are working on.

Tarmac has a long and proud tradition of charitable and community support and is committed to helping and improving the communities in which they operate.

Through their community investment programme they already support a number of projects throughout the UK, from sponsoring the first major travelling archaeology exhibition in over 20 years to funding the football kit for the Warstone Wanderers under 8s FC.

We also met East Park School who were on the site and are involved with Tarmac in managing a small wood and listing the ecology. Tarmac are a leading company that Wolverhampton would be the poorer for losing!

I informed the management that we as a City Council want to engage them more often, and the message was well received.

Earlier in the day the Mayoress and I had visited Stow Lawn School where we again toured the school and met staff and children. We had visited earlier in our municipal year and I had issued a challenge to the children to paint a portrait of me!

They of course did just that and Kirsty Turton presented me with a wonderful framed picture!

This is a really good school with a warmth that is a credit to the Head Teacher and Staff!
