HRH Steals The Show!

On the 27th April we had a visit to Wolverhampton HRH Princess Royal, Princess Anne.
She arrived into the city by helicopter to be greeted at Dunstall Park Racecourse by Rachel Heyhoe Flint the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Midlands County. She greeted the Princess Royal at then introduced her to Myself as Mayor, and then Mary the Mayoress.
HRH was then presented to the organisers of the event, which was about the upkeep and the responsibility of horse ownership. It was a very interesting day and I couldn't help in asking a question.!

The event organisers were thrilled to see her, and I must admit her enthusiasm for the subject, really came over in the talk that she gave about 'Horses a Right or Responsibility' .

Princess Royal made no bones about the fact that horses were not a right. She was keen to ensure that all present understood that no one had a right to a horse, but all owners had huge responsibility.

We had a chat with her prior to the event and the Express and Star caught us in a very relaxed mode having a laugh about the racecourse and my poor ability as a 'punter'!.
