Golfing Tales!

On Thursday 27th April we had a real big day of events. First it was the Mayor''s charity Golf Day at the Oxley Park Golf Club.
It was a superb venue for the event and I would like to pay my tribute to the committee and club members for making the venue available.

The Club is a tremendous facility and all the 135 teams a much bigger turnout than the year previous tournament saw 140 golfers play for the Mayor''s General Charities Fund.

Of course the real winners will be the three charities that I am supporting this year. The Divine Onkar Mission. the Children''s Ward in New Cross Hospital and Everyman ( men''s testicular cancer).

I am not sure exactly how much was raised but I am being told it is in excess of £2,000 which will be great. All the golfers had a marvellous day. But when itcame to my tee off. Well you guessed it ,two shots hit two trees and I finished about three feet from where I started but on the other fairway!

It did get better after that but only very marginally."
