Police Re-Assurance

I am still getting complaints from residents living near the Devil's Elbow Bridge about the illegal use of motorbikes on the canal towpath, I want to assure residents that the police are taking that matter seriously. here is what a senior officers wrote to me after the week end.

I am still getting complaints from residents living near the Devil's Elbow Bridge about the illegal use of motorbikes on the canal towpath, I want to assure residents that the police are taking that matter seriously. here is what a senior officers wrote to me after the week end.

"To update you the Canal area and other linked areas were patrolled extensively over this weekend.

I am aware that Officers spoke with a number of people including fishermen and local children and residents while on Patrol and met with a positive response with all they met.

As far as I am aware the only problem local to this area over the weekend involving off road bikes was in Wednesfield Park itself. Therein lies one of the problems we face i.e. the problem is so mobile it is difficult for us to predict where it will happen or in fact catch up with it when it occurs somewhere else.

As you are aware this problem increases during the lighter warmer months and is one we do treat seriously on the OCU and will continue to do so."
