An Exciting Day

Yesterday was a great day! The ''Hole In The World'' initiative that has allowed shoppers in the Mander Centre to look at their counterparts in Athens Greece was launched by myself and the Mayoress at 13.00, it was exciting and of course very novel.
This innovative ''well'' is driven by cctv and of course a great willingness on behalf of the owners of the shopping centre, in our case the Mander Centre, and Graham Evans the erudite Mander Centre manager.

I gave a little speech to the public that had gathered explaining the concept behind the idea, and I was very pleased with the response from Wulfrunians. Let's hope that it is a success.

I then went onto ''Envy'' a hairdressing salon on Stowlawn Estate where Linda Leach the owner and her staff had put on a great day for the clients, and the people living around her ''beauty emporium''. She and her staff had very kindly put on a charity day for the Mayor''s General Charity Fund, and in particular my charity ''Everyman'' who provides funds for men's testicular cancer cures.

Linda is one of those effervescent people who are always in the forefront of community development. I do hope that her shop is well supported by the community. She is a real star and I want to thank her for all the fund raising efforts she has put in.

I had my nails done and Mary the Mayoress helped with the photographs, you know draped over my shoulder and just looking stunning as always! Karen one of the best hair stylist's in the area showed off her skills by cutting a young man's hair whilst we all looked on! If you haven't been to Envy go and take a look!
Here you see the team at "Envy" waiting on as the Mayor drinks a cup of tea! followed by the ''Hole in the World'' photograph with the Mayor and Mayoress with Adam and Ben Green and their grandad Ray following a waving session with Athens!
