Liberal Democrats Splinter!

At last night's City Council meeting the Liberal Democrats splintered before our very eye's. They were fractured and very uneasy with their grouping.Spitting a few well aimed verbal volley's at one another....comments from Cllr Gwinett to Councillor Whitehouse accusing him of being the "Springvale one!"

No one knows what is happening, but they looked and acted like a hapless bunch, even to putting a motion down that was inept in its wording and disgraceful in its application, this being a 'no confidence' motion against the management of Wolverhampton Homes.

The Leader of the City Council roundly denounced the intention of the motion, as did the Leader of the Conservative Group.

But the new 'Leader of the Liberal Democrats' Councillor Heap continued to stumble and babble on making a rather poor showing and leaving the whole Council bemused and angry over their crass tactics. Councillor Gwinett sheepily seconded the resolution after a rather awkward silence ..allowing it to be debated.


Needless to say that the motion went down with the whole City Council voting against the Liberal Democrats..or was it the Liberals?!! No one seems to know anymore!... but it was without doubt a very unedifying sight.

I got the feeling last night that we were witnessing the demise of the three Councillors that represent the Springvale Ward on the city council. They cannot bear each other...glaring at one another, gesturing, and it was very plain for all to see.
