Mayor Visit's Metro One

Today in Wolverhampton the Mayor and Mayoress toured Wolverhampton College Metro One complex in the Wolverhampton Learning Quarter.
Councillor Phil Bateman MBE said " It was an eye opener for both the Mayoress and I. First of all the buildings are stunning as they have tied in the ''old with the new'' in this part of the city.
Second is the scale of the activity that Wolverhampton College is involved with at Metro One.

There is the most fabulous restaurant that is open to the public at set times. Indeed the food in the lunch time session was superb and three courses created by the students was just simply superb for a modest £5.00 cover. It must be the best value meal in the City check it out!

Then check the Hairdressing skills...........Now that really does blow your mind all that equipment and lots of students with great energy all learning the art of hairdressing.

The £7.2 million second phase of the Learning Quarter was unveiled at the start of the academic year. Aimed at encouraging people of all ages and walks of life back into education, the Learning Quarter provides new city centre sites for the City of Wolverhampton College and Adult Education Service.

The Learning Quarter is a state-of-the-art vocational academy for the service sector industries and there will initially be around 400 full-time and 2,000 – 3,000 part-time learners on site throughout the week.
