Connie Taylor Visit's Wolverhampton

In the Mayor's Parlour!

On the 2nd March 2006 my cousin Connie Taylor visited Wolverhampton and we toured the former areas of Wolverhampton, where the family originally resided before they emigrated to Canada in the 1920's.

St Peter's Pulpit

Connie Taylor is my cousin. She is the eldest daughter of Albert and Elsie Taylor. Connie lives in Oakville Ontario Canada, and was visiting Wolverhampton just for a day!

Elsie her mother is my Aunt, Elsie is my father's sister.

I took my cousin Connie to a number of former Bateman haunts, including All Saints Church where my Nan and Granddad got married. They were married on February 16th 1907, so we have just missed their wedding anniversary.

This was the Church and School where Ruth ( Harriet) the eldest of my dad's sister went to Church and Sunday School, before they emigrated to Montreal.

Gordon Street Wolverhampton

We also went to Gordon Street where Nan and Granddad Bateman lived for a while. From there I took Connie to St Peter's Church where our Great Grandfather from my Nan's side the Blowers, was a chorister.

Connie was allowed by the Church to go into the Pulpit and enjoy the view.

I showed her the pew where the Mayor of Wolverhampton prays, and ironically I prayed in that position only last Sunday before reading from the lectern in a church service for Wolverhampton's Judiciary!
