City Unresponsive To Trees Plea.

I first raised a question of trees that were growing 'wild' in a pensioners back garden in a Council owned property in August of 2004.
I had written because she finds that trees in her backgarden are growing wild and affecting her quality of life by reducing light to her property and that of her neighbours.

She was keen for the City Council to lop or remove the trees. So I wrote asking the Authority to arrange for an inspection to take place with a view to achieving her request of removing or thinning out the trees.

My constituent who is a widow as well as being a senior citizen is just not able to do the job herself, but this seems to have cut no ice with the Authority because 14 months on the.... work has still not been done.

I am of course horrified that this issue has just dragged on.

I am keeping the name and address confidential at the moment as my constituent is concerned about her own personal safety. But what I can say is that the way that we the City Council have dealt with this issue is not very well received at all, in this little corner of Wednesfield.

Friends and neighbours are disgusted that the City can deal with their tenants in this way.

I am going to contact senior officers today to find out what is happening to this request, I will keep this issue in public view until I have received a response to my questions."
