Shooting For Charity

The Mayor and Mayoress visited the Indoor Shooting Range at Aldersley Stadium and were pleased to see a range of volunteers painting and grooming the Range for an important competition that was to take place in the City.

Mayor Phil Bateman said " As part of my initiative with the Mayor's General Charities Fund, and to give a boost to the facilities that we have here in Wolverhampton. I have arranged with officials to run a charity competition from the Indoor Shooting Range before my term of office ends.
I was pleased to see all the hardwork that takes place behind the scenes to ensure that organisations benefit from the super facilities that we have here. I particularly liked the'blind' shooting arrangements that are available to those person's that have sight defect.

Sadly the Mayoress beat me in an impromptu display of shooting...both of us had to simulate not seeing by closing our eye's and listening for the target using hi pitched sound to hone in and shoot!

But it was good fun! I hope that when the date is announced the City will support the event by putting teams into the Mayors general Charities Fund competition."
