Best Value for Money – Water Company receives Praise for Service
South Staffordshire Water Company received an accolade from water regulater OFWAT today, ranking them overall third of 23 water companies in the UK.


OFWAT, has today issued a report confirming that customers of South Staffordshire Water are receiving the 3rd highest standards of service, anywhere in the UK.



South Staffordshire Water Company have received this recognition for outstanding service, for every service measured , and is now ranked third in the industry where there are 23 companies operating within the sector. The Company has achieved this outstanding service for the 7th year running. Within Ofwat's assessment the Company scores 286 from 288 points.



This top performance within the overall measure confirms that customers of the company have been receiving a quality product. That drinking water quality is of the highest standard; that there are few incidents of low pressure or supply interruptions; and the Company is considerate towards the local water environment. All great performances especially when coupled with the fact that the regulator also stated that customers of the company were receiving 'high standards of customer service'.



Phil Bateman Chairman of the Customer Consultative Council, an independent body representing Customer views stated "My Committee and I are delighted that the regulator has recognised the excellent service provide by South Stafffordshire Water Company. They have worked hard to be regarded as one of the best Water Companies in the business.



In other industries it is common for high performance companies providing an exceptional service to charge their customers a premium price. Thankfully for the customer here, South Staffs is delivering excellent service at a very competitive price.



The average household water bill in the South Staffordshire area is 20% lower that the national average. I am sure that customers will feel pleased that these outstanding performance results are being achieved because of the diligence of the company, and the commitment they have towards providing a quality product. "

1. South Staffordshire Water serves large parts of the Black Country, including Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley, together with areas such as Tamworth, Burton, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield and Cannock. In total, the Company serves a population of 1.2 million. The Company supplies 330 million litres of water every day across a network of pipes that total 6,000 km in length.
