Subject: Quad Bikes at Coppice Farm Green

In Wednesfield North much has been tried to achieve
by the local Ward Councillors in trying to get the police to act against bikers and quads that have been roaring around the green areas of Wednesfield, churning up the grass and putting pedestrians at risk.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " Just read the results of the last Wednesfield North Ward report given by Councillor Dave Jones to get the full feel of the activity we have been involved in with regard to this topic.

I have now received a comment from a Walsall resident living on Coppice Farm which I have reproduced for readers,I wonder do they have a point?"


Walsall residents writes "I am concerned to read in the Express & Star newspaper that quad bikes are to be one of the attractions at the New Invention carnival to be held on August 13th 2005.



I live directly opposite Coppice Farm Green on Coppice Farm Way and have first hand experience of the problems caused by illegal motor bike riding in our area which I feel the quad bike attraction will encourage after the carnival has gone. The police have been clamping down on this problem over the last few weeks and I feel that all their good work will be undone."
