Anti Social Behaviour Unit

The City Councils Anti Social Behaviour Unit and the Anti Social Behaviour Strategy has come under the spotlight once again with City Council Members being concerned at the level of resources allocated to the Anti Social Behaviour Unit.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " I have spoken about this issue at a private meeting of the Labour Group and explained that I thought the resourcing of this unit was a real important issue. I emphasised to colleagues that we had to get the resources sorted. One of the great weaknesses of the current system is that the Unit is not able to publicise the outcome of each individual case it deals with. I explained that I thought that this was a weakness in the system.

The outcome was that there was a commitment to look at the Unit and see what extra resources could be delivered. I will keep you informed of developments."
