Beware the opportunist in the ranks... as we run towards the General Election you can see them materialising all over the place.

The garb they wear is usually blue and they will tell you all sorts of things.

Well take Alex Robson the recently parachuted American that is now running a Parliamentary Election campaign as the Tory candidate in Wolverhampton North East. Without going over the top she and her advisors are trying to take away from local residents the success that local residents had in rallying around their beleaguered Post Office in Stubby Lane and saving it from closure.

The Post Office management wanted to close the facility, users and residents mounted a vigorous campaign to save it, what happened!

The Post Office had a change of mind, the Stubby Lane service remained open. Then galloping into the publicity like General Custer comes our latest political challenger Alex Robson. She then announces how she has saved the Post Office!

Utter tripe & garbage but it gave her a head line. Not happy at that she keeps the myth a float by getting her supporters to attack one of the local campaigners who felt just a bit aggrieved that their campaigning and their use of the Post Office, and its facilities was inconsequential!

Bad move that as it has alienated the locals... more than that it has led to far less admiration for the Conservatives than their original media tactic envisaged.

Maybe not quite the disaster of the Tory Deputy Chairman's admittance that the plans on public spending cuts that the Conservatives have announced are only cosmetic and the £35b they want to strip from public service will be more if they gain power..but nevertheless a local gaffe of major proportions.

Roll on May the 5th if that is General Election day... so we can wave goodbye to a candidate that I suspect never heard of Wednesfield never mind Stubby Lane Post Office, before she arrived here in Wolverhampton...and some kind of normality can be returned to the neighbourhood....and all the chatter at the ungracious attack on local campaigners can with her.... drift away.

I wonder if you are thinking what local residents are thinking about this...........!
