Building On Allotments!

Councillor Phil Bateman today said " I want to inform local residents that live close to the allotments at Parker Road Ashmore Park that an outline planning application is being sought with reference to the site.

I confirm that following extensive consultation into possible uses for the land an outline planning application has been submitted for the development of the land by the erection single storey residential properties with the intention that, if consent is forthcoming, the site will be offered for sale on the open market.

I have been informed that any funds raised from the sale will be used to provide new allotments or improve other existing allotments within the city as required by the Allotments Act 1908.

I have been assured that as part of the planning process, adjoining occupiers will be notified of the application. I am keen that if you have a view you e-mail me or place a comment on the Discussion Page on this site."
