BMX On The Horizon

City Council Street Crime Wardens have been working with the Probation Service in a partnership to renovate the BMX track on Ashmore Park.
Councillor Phil Bateman said " The team have been working tirelessly for many months to renovate the BMX Cycle track. Using Government funding the team of Wardens have purchased a number of BMX bicycles as well as safety equipment which it is planned to loan to people through-out the City who will then be able to use the facility.

A provisional launch date has been set for the 4th April, I understand that the local newspaper the Express and Star will be covering the event . This is a tremendous facility that had fallen into disrepair. I think that we all owe this partnership between Street Crime Wardens and the Probation Service a lot of thanks...they have worked so hard to bring the facility forward. I just know it will be a well used asset and will attract a lot of young people to the sport. I have nothing but praise for all of those that have enabled this poorly maintained facility to be brought back to life."
