Budget Proposals For Wednesfield North

I am pleased that once again the Labour Group on the City Council have felt a requirement to provide financial resources for the construction of residents parking schemes in the suburbs. The sum being flagged up for allocation is a tidy £1.350m.
There is also good news for Broad Lane North and Broad Lane South as the Local Safety Plan has now been resourced with the Labour controlled City Council earmarking £70.000 for the local safety scheme that they have been drawing up for the two Lanes. There will be some further consultation with residents before the detail of the scheme is worked through but I am sure residents will be broadly pleased that the finance has been identified and is now part of the Labour Parties city budget proposals.

Another scheme in Wednesfield North that has had a lot of work taking place to prepare it for release in the Local Safety Scheme 2005/6 for Linthouse Lane. The cost of this work is estimated at £100,000this is the largest sum earmarked for this type of work in the budget for safety schemes.

The resources if they are passed in the City Council Budget Meeting are aimed at reducing the serious safety problems that have led to casualties and have been prioritised on that basis.
