My Grand Parents By Phil Bateman

This is a photo taken in Canada with my Grandfather Joseph Lawrence Bateman with large grey moustache and my Grandmother Mary Ellen Bateman who the family called 'Nell'

Also in the picture is Joe and Nells eldest son Frank with his new bride Francis. Frank had been to India with the Army and had a very heavy tan!

My grand mother like my Grandfather was born in Wolverhampton. Nell has she was called worked at the famous old Wolverhampton Factory the Sunbeam when the first world war broke out. She was a Blower, and the next stage of the family history cycle will start with research of my Nan's family. I dearly loved her she was just great!

Frank and Francis had two boys. Whilst Frank was also born in Wolverhampton his two lads were born in Montreal they are Ian and David and I havent seen them for decades.
