Deputy Mayor Meets the Haque Center

Well our Deputy Mayor saga continued tonight with an official engagement at the Haque Centres Annual General Meeting. There were 200 or more members of the Asian Community in the hall to hear a number of speeches from various people active in the community.

These included Councillor Roger Lawrence the Leader of Wolverhampton City Council and Councillor Elias Mattu.

It was a very good turn out from the community and they heard how our whole community was enriched by the Haque Center and the support they gave.

As Deputy Mayor they sprang a speech on me, so I managed to string a few words together at short notice. The Deputy Mayoress received a lovely bouquet of flowers from the congregation.
