Bus Shelter Request

Residents living in Bellamy Lane Wednesfield have I understand approached Councillors in the past for the erection of a bus shelter in the ''to City'' direction. I know that those Councillors have raised the issue with Centro previously. Sadly there has still not arrived at the location a bus shelter.

Now residents have raised this issue again with all three Wednesfield North Councillors.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " this maybe because the footpath is too narrow at the location required, or that the site is too low down on the list of Centro''s priorities. But whatever the reason we will find out why the site still stands denuded of shelter and passengers are still standing in the elements. I know from my local experience that in the winter the wind drives across the fields, and it is very uncomfortable for the elderley who are forced to wait without shelter for their local bus services.

I shall now try and see if I can together with my colleagues, see if we can persuade Centro to review the application and the site. I know that there is a great willingness to assist in Centro if it is possible, therefore I will speak with them today and report back on this site any action that Centro contemplates making."
