Scurrilous Lumpkins These Liberal Democrats!

Wednesday nights City Council meeting was the first under new Council reporting arrangements. These new arrangements give a real opportunity for Councillors to question the Executive about policy and actions taken by the various Cabinet Portfolio holders.

Sadly last night was a pretty feeble affair, especially when the whole Liberal Democrats Group slunk away before the vote was taken on rent policy.
When you think of it was pretty miserable when you have as many tenants as Wolverhampton has... not to sit out the debate and take a vote on the policy that the City Council has in store for its 38,000 tenants.

The Tories under Councillor Paddy Bradley's leadership were scathing as were Labour Councillors. But there was an air of contempt about the way that they slunk off not bothering to take part or voting on what was eventually agreed by Council..a 5% rent increase. It will be interesting to hear what those Liberal Democrats scallywags say next time they come to campaign at local elections ....I wonder what they will be saying about rents. I just wonder if the rest of the City Council will remind them that they bunked off early to the lure of England v Poland game.

Shame shame shame. The people of Wolverhampton deserve to know what scurrilous lumpkins these three city Councillors are. The Leadership displayed by Councillor Whitehouse has much to be desired....I think we might just set up a Lib Dem watch on the City Council.
