Mobile Police Station Deployed

Here we see the former Travel West Midlands Optare bus converted by West Midlands Police into a mobile police station.This bus was donated in 2003 by Travel West Midlands, the regions biggest bus company.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " I am pleased that this Optare bus that had been donated by TWM under their Operation Safer Travel partnership has been so succesfully transformed into what you see here a real community gem. Its good to see it here in the heart of my Ward!

The nice thing for me is that my constituents as well as the other residents of Wolverhampton are seeing the benefits of this innovative crime fighting partnership.
The bus looks good and it is going to make a difference to the way the Wolverhampton East OCU in which Wednesfield North Ward falls performs. There is no police station in this Ward and the mobile police station creates a great focus."
