Police Meeting Action Call

Ashmore Park Police Consultative Meeting took place last night at Coppice Close Community Centre.
Amongst the topics discussed was the concern that anti-social behaviour was still causing people difficulty in the area. The meeting praised the Ashmore Park Youth team for making such an impact on young people is 12 short months.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " We think that the Youth Workers had done a magnificent job in getting young people interested in the activities in the club. But I do think that the ugly scrawl that is on the outside of the Youth Club needs to be tackled. we can't have grafitti causing damage on the estate. At the moment it is nothing but a demoralising turn-off for any-one who have the misfortune of seeing the hideous daubing.

The good news is that we shall have more out-reach workers who I really do hope will 'reach out' and encourage youngsters who will not come into the Youth Club.

There is a lot going on but we do need to ensure even more events takes place, but I do think that all those that work there deserve praise for their current achievements."
