Safety Camera Partnership

Wolverhampton Council is one of a handful of local authorities to be included in the new Safety camera Partnership, which recently announced excellent results after its first three years of operation.

The report published by the Department for Transport in June of this year showed the cameras helped to reduce speeding, and the number of serious or fatal accidents by 40% and the total number of collisions by 33%.

In real terms this means that 105 fewer people were killed by road traffic accidents and a saving of £221 million in damage. Councillor Bateman said today " I shall be checking to see when the Safety Partnership will be introducing the speed camera on Linthouse Lane."
